The Malaysian government led by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Friday proposed an expansionary national budget aimed at helping the country recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The budget for 2023 has been allocated 372.3 billion ringgit (80.06 billion U.S. dollars) compared to 332.1 billion ringgit (71.42 billion U.S. dollars) allocated for 2022.
In his budget speech at the country's lower house of parliament, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the government will seek to insulate the country against uncertainties caused by the global situation, including disruptions caused by the conflict in Ukraine, a sluggish
