China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has ushered in its cotton harvest season.
According to the regional government, more than 7,000 cotton-picking machines have been put into service in Xinjiang.
The overall mechanized rate of cotton-picking this year is expected to exceed 80 percent.
Xinjiang is China's largest cotton-producing region.
Cotton output in Xinjiang topped 5.1 million tonnes in 2021, accounting for about 90 percent of the country's total.
