STORYLINE:
The first batch of units of a super-high altitude photovoltaic experiment base was put into operation in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Sitting at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, the base has a total installed capacity of 600,000 kilowatts.
It is expected to generate 1.268 billion kilowatt-hours of clean power after all units connect to the grid.
It will reduce 390,000 tonnes of standard coal and 1.07 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
