A Spanish health expert has called for vigilance as the number of new cases of COVID-19 continues to rise in Spain.
The latest data from the Ministry of Health in its weekly report on Oct. 21 showed that there were 25,422 new cases detected, up from 20,652 a week earlier.
The infection rate among people over 60 also went up to 221 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
SOUNDBITE 1 (Catalan): LAIA MAYNOU, Economics professor and expert in health at Barcelona University
"We have to keep an eye on the possibility of a new wave of COVID infections. I don't think we need to act radically unless the rise in the number of cases becomes high, but we need to be vigilant
