Egyptian Minister of Local Development Hisham Amna announced Wednesday that a total of 210 environmentally-friendly buses are in place in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh to transport the delegations to the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Amna said the buses, powered by natural gas and electricity, were manufactured according to relevant cooperation protocols.
Amna also confirmed that the ministry has assigned 70,000 trees to Sharm El-Sheikh, as part of Egypt's efforts to implement the Presidential Initiative of planting 100 million trees nationwide to combat climate change.
COP27 is scheduled to open on Nov. 6.
