Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that recognizing the State of Palestine is a needed step toward achieving a two-state solution.
Shoukry confirmed in a media interview that Egypt has made efforts, in coordination with other nations in the Arab-Islamic Liaison Committee, to persuade many countries of the world to recognize the State of Palestine.
An international peace conference, said Shoukry, cannot be held before a ceasefire is in place.
