STORYLINE:
Egypt's Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced on Thursday that Egypt's annual headline inflation increased from 15 percent in September to 16.2 percent in October, surpassing the 15.7 percent mark registered in November 2018.
Egypt's headline inflation has been accelerating in the double-digit zone since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February.
The Central Bank of Egypt has hiked key interest rates three times since the start of the conflict by a total of five percent to rein in inflation.
Egypt also announced on Thursday a 3-billion-dollar agreement with the Inter
