STORYLINE:
The late-season rice harvest is nearing the end. Farmers in east China's Jiangsu Province are working round the clock to dry the unhusked rice to fill up every granary.
To facilitate the work, Jiangsu has installed more than 4,000 air-source heat pump dryers in farms and companies across the province.
It costs about 5.62 U.S. dollars to dry a tonne of grain with these dryers, while the same workload powered by coal or fuel oil costs four times as much.
