"This is Ding Ting from Xinhua News Agency. Behind me is the new home to Yangtze No. 2 Ancient Shipwreck near the Huangpu River, which used to be the site of Shanghai Shipyard with a history of about 120 years."
An ancient shipwreck, one of the largest and best-preserved wooden shipwrecks discovered underwater in China to date, was lifted out of waters in Shanghai on Nov. 21 and transferred to the dock via the Yangpu Bridge as scheduled.
The Yangtze No. 2 Ancient Shipwreck dates back to the reign of Emperor Tongzhi (1862-1875) of the Qing Dynasty. This salvage could offer a glimpse of shipbuilding technology during the Qing Dynasty.
