STORYLINE:
A contest themed "I love panda," organized by the China Cultural Center in Cairo under the auspices of the Chinese embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian education directorate in Cairo, concluded on Wednesday night.
More than 500 children from primary, junior and high schools in Cairo took part in the contest with pictures drawn about panda. Three winners came in first place, nine won the second, and 18 topped the third place while 30 received a prize of excellence.
"Giant panda is a symbol of peace and a national treasure for China," said Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang during the ceremony.
