Futemma base's return may be delayed

The proposed return of the U.S. Futemma marine base in Okinawa Prefecture to Japan may be delayed by at least two or three years because of uncertainty over a replacement heliport. The photograph was taken by a Kyodo News helicopter in December 1997 over the city of Ginowan, Okinawa, where the heliport is located.
