Islamic leader in Indonesia talks to Kyodo
Abdurrahman Wahid, chairman of Indonesia's biggest Islamic party, gives an interview to Kyodo News on Dec. 2 while ill in bed at his home in Jakarta. The chairman of the 40-million-member Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) said the popular Muslim-based United Development Party (PPP) may be able to compete with the ruling Golkar party in the next general election scheduled for June 7 next year.
