Sherman tank part found at Okinawa archeological site

Photo shows part of a Sherman tank used by the U.S. forces during World War II that has been dug up at an archeological site in Okinawa, the prefectural educational board said June 8. The turret of what appears to be an M4 Sherman was found at the Isamebaru No. 1 site in Ginowan, where the remains of early Ryukyu settlements of the 12th to 14th centuries have been excavated and examined since 1996.
