ASHIRO, Japan - Crown Prince Naruhito (C) and his wife Princess Masako (L) enjoy hiking Aug. 3 on the Hachimantai Plateau in Towada-Hachimantai National Park in Ashiro, Iwate Prefecture, northern Japan. The imperial couple were on vacation in the prefecture.

Ninety-year-old Japanese adventure skier Yuichiro Miura (C) is seated in a special wheelchair for mountain use to ascend the 3,776-meter Mt. Fuji from the Shizuoka Prefecture side on Aug. 29, 2023.
