Opposition parties protest ramming of wiretap bills through pane
TOKYO, Japan - Opposition party parliamentarians of the House of Councillors committee on judicial affairs hold up six-kanji reading, ''We oppose the forced passage (of the wiretap bills)'' on Aug. 9. The protest was held after the Liberal Democratic Party, the Liberal Party and New Komeito party railroaded a set of bills enabling wiretapping in the investigation of organized crime through the committee.
