Three parties kick off policy talks
TOKYO, Japan - Representatives of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), its coalition partner Liberal Party (LP) and No. 2 opposition New Komeito party begin policy talks Sept. 8 aimed at forming a coalition government. The three parties plan to launch the coalition once a policy agreement is reached, possibly in late September.
