AUM to suspend external activities, use of name

TOKYO, Japan - Tatsuko Muraoka (L), acting representative for the AUM Shinrikyo religious sect, and Hiroshi Araki, vice chief of public relations for the cult, hold a press conference at AUM's office in Tokyo's Adachi Ward on Sept. 29 to announce AUM will suspend all its external activities from Oct. 1 and provisionally halt the use of its name.
