TOKAIMURA, Japan - Officials check radiation measuring devices sent Sept. 30 to a local community center in Tokaimura, Ibaraki Prefecture, that houses residents who fled their homes following a major radiation leakage at a uranium processing plant in Tokaimura. According to the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, 2-4 millisievert of neutron per hour -- equivalent to 10,000 to 20,000 times the normal level of radiation -- was detected on the plant's premises on Thursday evening.
