Japanese firm develops ultralight helicopter

NAGANO, Japan - Engineering System Co., a Japanese venture company based in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, has developed this ultralight helicopter for solo rides and is planning to market the machine in December. The ''GEN H-4'' can carry a pilot weighing up to 100 kilograms and travel at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour and to heights of about 1,500 meters.

          New shinkansen train

          TOKYO, Japan - The new Hayabusa bullet train leaves JR Tokyo Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen Line on March 5, 2011. The green train, which debuted the same day, is the first new model deployed by the service's operator, East Japan Railway Co., since December 1997. It can travel at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour and it has the longest nose of any shinkansen at 15 meters.
