Japan offers $400 mil. aid package to Jordan
TOKYO, Japan - Jordanian King Abdullah II (L) and Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi shake hands prior to their talks Dec. 2. During the meeting at the prime minister's official residence, Obuchi unveiled a $400 million three-year economic aid package aimed to help Jordan cushion its heavy debt burden and maintain stability as a major player in the Middle East peace process.
