Top rookie Uehara gets giant pay hike

TOKYO, Japan - Central League Rookie of the Year pitcher Koji Uehara fields questions from reporters after winning a 53 million yen pay raise from the Yomiuri Giants on Dec. 15. Uehara, 24, will make 66 million yen next season, Yomiuri officials said.
