6 ministers visit Yasukuni Shrine on war anniversary
TOKYO, Japan - Justice Minister Okiharu Yasuoka alights from his car Aug. 15 to visit Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, a Shinto memorial to war dead, for the 55th anniversary of the country's surrender in World War II. Five other cabinet members, excluding Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, visited the shrine, often seen as a symbol of Japan's militarism.
