Japanese astronaut Wakata meets the press
CAPE CANAVERAL, United States - Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata (R) says Sept. 14 he will do his utmost ''to do a good job'' on the space shuttle Discovery in which he is set to lift off in early October from Cape Canaveral. Speaking to reporters in front of the shuttle's launching pad along with six other astronauts on the mission, Wakata said three years of preparation and training meant he was ready for the imminent challenge of helping assemble an international space station.
