S. African-made Mercedes Benz cars to go to Japan
EAST LONDON, South Africa - Employees at a new DaimlerChrysler AG factory in East London, South Africa, work on Mercedes Benz cars. The German-U.S. automaker said Oct. 11 the factory is manufacturing right-hand-drive sedans bound for markets in Asia, including Japan, and Britain. Until now, only Mercedes Benz models made at the company's Bremen plant in Germany have been shipped to Japan.
