Fukuda named chief cabinet secretary

TOKYO, Japan - Yasuo Fukuda walks into the prime minister's official residence Oct. 27. Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori appointed him to replace Chief Cabinet Secretary Hidenao Nakagawa, who had tendered his resignation earlier in the day. Fukuda, 64, is the eldest son of the late Prime Minister Takeo Fukuda.
