Civilian sex slave tribunal begins in Tokyo
TOKYO, Japan - Civic groups begin a five-day tribunal in Tokyo on Dec. 8 to try the Japanese government over its responsibility for World War II sex slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army. Women from North and South Korea, the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, East Timor and the Netherlands are demanding Japan apologize and compensate them for their mistreatment at the hands of the Japanese during the war.
