Mori intends to attend Davos economic forum late Jan.
HONG KONG, China - Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori (R) speaks to reporters Jan. 7 during a flight from Tokyo to Hong Kong en route to South Africa, the first stop on a nine-day trip to sub-Saharan Africa and Greece. Mori said he intends to attend an annual world economic forum, known as the Davos conference, in Switzerland later in January to explain the Japanese government's economic policies if his schedule permits. The Davos conference opens in the Swiss resort on Jan. 25. No Japanese prime minister has ever attended the annual meeting.
