Bridgestone chief to resign following tire recall

TOKYO, Japan - Yoichiro Kaizaki, president of Bridgestone Corp., speaks at a news conference in Tokyo on Jan. 11. Kaizaki said he will resign apparently to take responsibility for deteriorating business following a recall of millions of defective tires last summer made by Bridgestone/Firestone Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the Japanese tire maker.
