LP, DPJ execs meet to beef up fight against ruling camp

TOKYO, Japan - File photos show Ichiro Ozawa (L), Liberal Party (LP) leader, and Naoto Kan, secretary general of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ). The two met in the evening of Jan. 28 to reinforce their cooperation against the ruling camp ahead of the opening of the 150-day regular Diet session Jan. 31, opposition sources said Jan. 29. Ozawa told Kan his party will fully cooperate to enable the opposition camp to seize power if the DPJ, the largest opposition party in Japan, exercises leadership to that end.
