Osaka civil servant publishes third study on toilets

OSAKA, Japan - Shigenori Yamaji shows off copies of his newly published ''The Journal of Toilet Culture'' on Feb. 27. Yamaji, a 53-year-old civil servant from Osaka Prefecture, has been researching the history of toilets in Japan for more than 30 years. The book is Yamaji's third such project, following his ''Toilet Archaeology'' and ''Notes on the Toilet.''
