Japan reopens Nazi-era Berlin embassy in Berlin

BERLIN, Germany - Photo shows the official residence of the Japanese ambassador to Germany in Berlin. On March 5, Japan reopened the residence building and its embassy administrative building, both of which date from the Nazi era. The buildings resumed service for the first time in 56 years, following the mission's relocation from Bonn in 1999. They were built in 1942 and are located on a 13,000-square-meter lot in the in the heart of the city.
