Widow of Kyodo reporter donates 3 mil. yen for Chinese school

AGEO, Japan - Matsue Ito, the widow of Shinichi Ito, a former chief of Kyodo News' Beijing bureau, holds the photo of her husband at her home in Ageo, Saitama Prefecture, on April 15. She has donated 3 million yen through a Chinese group for youth development to rebuild a school in Hebei Province in northeast China. Ito worked as a correspondent in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong for a total of 11 years.
