Matsushita, Hitachi announce home appliance alliance

TOKYO, Japan - Etsuhiko Shoyama (L), president of Hitachi Ltd. and Kunio Nakamura, president of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., shake hands at a news conference in a Tokyo hotel on May 23.
