S. Korea, China parliaments to press Japan on textbooks
SEOUL, South Korea - South Korean National Assembly Speaker Lee Man Sup (R) chats with Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (L), at the assembly in Seoul on May 24. They agreed that their countries should jointly press Japan to revise new textbooks viewed as distorting history and glossing over wartime atrocities committed by Japanese soldiers. Li is in Seoul for an official visit at Lee's invitation.
