Prince Naruhito 'grateful' to well-wishers for expecting wife
LONDON, England - Crown Prince Naruhito meets the press May 24 at the Japanese ambassador's residence in London, winding up a weeklong visit. He said, ''I am very happy about the fact that I received warm wishes of congratulations from people in all the various places I visited'' on Crown Princess Masako's pregnancy. The crown prince visited Britain as honorary president of the Japan 2001 festival, a yearlong event showcasing Japanese culture in Britain. He is due back in Japan on May 25. (Pool photo)
