Niigata gov't leaders to urge TEPCO to scrap MOX plan

NIIGATA, Japan - Hiroo Shinada (L), mayor of the village of Kariwa, Niigata Gov. Ikuo Hirayama (C) and Masazumi Saikawa, mayor of the city of Kashiwazaki meet June 1 in Kashiwazaki to discuss a Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) plan to use recycled nuclear fuel at a local nuclear plant. They agreed to urge TEPCO to scrap the plan.

TEPCO removes part of reactor building cover at Fukushima plant
