Climbers head for Mt. Fuji with opening of peak's season

Mt. Fuji, Japan - More than 200 people, braving rain and strong winds, head for the summit of Mt. Fuji on June 30 to be the first to observe the sunrise from the 3,776-meter peak since the start of the new millennium. The climbers started their ascent from the fifth station ahead of the July 1 opening of this season's Mt. Fuji climbing. The photo was taken at the eighth station at 8:25 p.m.
