Japanese emigrants to Dominican Republic sue gov't
TOKYO, Japan - Some of the 30 Japanese who emigrated to the Dominican Republic in the 1950s under a failed state project enter the Tokyo District Court on Aug. 6 to file a damages suit against the Japanese government, demanding the state pay some 420 million yen in compensation for their plight in the Caribbean country.
