Kyoto University gets OK for 1st Japan-made stem cells
TOKYO, Japan - Members of an ethics committee for Kyoto University meet in Tokyo on Nov. 4. They approved a professor's proposal to study creating embryonic stem cells from fertilized human ova, making the university the first Japanese institute to launch such a research.
