Shimizu midfielder Alex obtains Japanese citizenship

SHIMIZU, Japan - Shimizu S-Pulse midfielder Alex holds a board showing his new Japanese name at a press conference at a hotel in Shizuoka on Nov. 12 after being informed that he has been granted Japanese citizenship. The Brazilian-born player's application was cleared in just eight months and paves the way for his appearance for the national side.
