Dollar rises to 128 yen level, hitting new 3-yr high
TOKYO, Japan - A dealer at a brokerage in Tokyo's Koto Ward wears a Santa Claus outfit Dec. 17 while an electric board behind him shows the dollar being traded above the 128 yen level. The dollar rose to a new three-year high against the yen in Tokyo, on remarks by Finance Minister Masajuro Shiokawa and growing pessimism over the future of Japan's banking system.
