Transport ministers pledge safe air, sea transportation
TOKYO, Japan - Transport ministers from 20 countries meet the press at a Tokyo hotel Jan. 15 after adopting a statement pledging to protect air and sea transportation against terrorist attacks on the first day of their two-day meeting. The ministers and other high-level representatives from 14 European countries, Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and the United States exchanged views on preventing a recurrence of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. as well as combating sea and air pollution.
