Afghan girls go to school for 1st time in 6 years
KABUL, Afghanistan - Hamid Karzai (C), chairman of the Afghan Interim Administration, attends a festive celebration of the new school year at a Kabul high school on March 23. Some 3,000 schools across Afghanistan threw open their doors to more than 1.5 million children, with girls entering a formal classroom for the first time in six years.
