650-year-old pine tree cut down
TAKAMATSU, Japan - Workers begin cutting down a 650-year-old pine tree, with a girth of 7 meters, at Entsuji Temple in Utazu, Kagawa Prefecture, on April 26. Wood from the worm-eaten tree will be made into prayer beads to give followers.
