Prince Mikasa hospitalized due to infection

TOKYO, Japan - Prince Mikasa (file photo), an uncle of Emperor Akihito, was hospitalized July 4 at a Tokyo hospital due to bacterial infection, sources close to the Imperial Household Agency said. The 86-year-old prince was temporarily treated at the hospital's intensive care unit, but no details were immediately available.
