Yokohama to let residents decide participation in network

YOKOHAMA, Japan - Yokohama Mayor Hiroshi Nakada speaks at a news conference at his office Aug. 2. He said he has decided to allow residents of the city to choose whether their personal data can be registered in a national resident registry network to be launched Aug. 5 by the central government.
