Taisho Pharmaceutical, Toyama Chemical to form alliance

TOKYO, Japan - Katsuhiko Nakano (L), president of Toyama Chemical Co., and Akira Uehara, president of Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., shake hands in Tokyo on Aug. 9 before their announcement of a business alliance between the two companies at a press conference. They said Taisho will take a stake of about 20% in Toyama Chemical Co. in September and form an alliance in the field of prescription drugs.
