Japanese NGOs to be more active, monitor gov't at WSSD

TOKYO, Japan - Mitsutoshi Hayakawa, managing director of the Osaka-based Citizens' Alliance for Saving the Atmosphere and the Earth (CASA), speaks in an interview with Kyodo News. ''I myself think this summit will be a conference to accelerate environmental measures,'' Oki said in a recent interview with Kyodo News ahead of the Aug. 26-Sept. 4 summit.
