HIROSHIMA, Japan - Workers begin Oct. 8 repairing the A-Bomb Dome in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima Prefecture to prevent rainwater and other factors from degrading the structure, which has been listed as a World Heritage site.

                      TAHARA, Japan - A ceremony is held in Tahara, Aichi Prefecture, on Oct. 8, 2014, to mark the completion of the Tahara Solar/Wind Electricity Generation Plant (back), one of Japan's biggest solar-wind hybrid power plants. The plant on an 800,000-square-meter site consists of a 50-megawatt photovoltaic power generator and a 6-MW wind power generator, covering the power consumption of about 19,000 households.
