NTT DoCoMo to sell phone that acts as TV remote control

TOKYO, Japan - NTT DoCoMo Inc. said on Nov. 20 it will introduce the Mova N504iS mobile phone handset (photo) that can act as a remote control for TV sets and videocassette players, and photograph phone numbers, e-mail addresses and other data for storage in its memory chip with a built-in camera. The handset, manufactured by NEC Corp., will be priced at around 30,000 yen.

NTT Docomo suspends sales of new smartphone

Panasonic to launch e-book reader on Aug. 10

The Japanese consumer electronics giant said July 22, 2011, that the handset, with a price tag of 34,800 yen, can only be purchased via Panasonic's web store. The e-book reader has a 7-inch color liquid-crystal display, and is equipped with 16 kinds of applications such as e-mail and a camera.

NTT Docomo to buy 26% stake in India's Tata Teleservices

The F801i model, to be put on the market on Dec. 20, sets off an alarm of 100 decibels and emits light when a user pulls an emergency hook, NTT DoCoMo said.
